The points before his death are a bit of a blur, unsure entirely of just what lead him to this place though he has discovered enough to figure out there's a reason why he is here.
Here being hell.
Though as far as hell spawn goes, it could be a hell of a lot worse. He had a pretty good job, doing what he loves, literally, and has made a name for himself from it. But that attention and good luck does not come without a cost. As with most things of that nature. He is bound to Valentino and forced under his thumb in almost every aspect of his life. It is only recently that he has been able to have the strength to walk away from Val in ways that he can to help better define who he is as a person. Though that does not come without cost itself.
He has worked for the V's for years prior to coming to the Hazbin Hotel, a hotel created by Charlie Morningstar to help rehab sinners. One of the original guests, Angel met Charlie and felt a pull to her cause he could not deny. Despite being a terrible mouth, or good depending on who you ask ;), and general a shit stirrer he is not really a bad person. Just someone with some really bad habits. He wants desperately to free himself from the bonds of Valentino and appreciates the true blue friendships that have blossomed in this place for wayward sinners.
Slowly he has been working on making the hotel a better place alongside Charlie and the rest of the crew, most of which have the same end goals in mind; Try and do better with the hope that their efforts will release them from their eternal damnation. He isn't sure that he entirely believes that still but he is willing to see it through as far as he can. Because he feels what they are doing is worth it, if they can manage it.

abilities:
He does not have any specific 'abilities', he is fairly charismatic, when he is not being over the top. Which helps him to get out of most of his troubles as well as gets him into them.
He is also displayed as being incredibly nimble and athletic, but is not particularly physically strong.
He is also a weapons expert, he has an affinity for guns of various makes and models. He prefers smaller units with med-caliber capacities and larger clips. He enjoys the spray and pray method but is actually a fair shot. He is also at least moderately trained in swordsmanship. He has a total of six arms, though often has the lower third set tucked away except when needed.

Angel can be 'A Lot™'. He has a very sexualised personality one part because of just who he is as a person and some aspects because of how he's been allowed to exist in hell thus far, he defaults to this with anyone new which means first meetings can sometimes go awry without meaning them to.
He purposefully created himself an over the top persona to hide any real emotions he may be feeling. The sort of say anything, shock masses, kinda personality that at times can be a lot to handle. He can be seen as somewhat selfish, only interested in what gets him off. However Angel is a dedicated friend who would do anything to help when he can with the people he cares about.
With people he knows he is an active listener and has a very cuddly personality, with all those arms how can you not!, he enjoys the companionship of others and not just in the sexual way. He hates feeling alone, which is one of the reasons he fell so easily into what Valentino offered. He is very kind, though he doesn't often show it without a joke or two, and is truly working on being more open and less hidden behind his safety persona.
